In my last post I spoke about scrapping that imperfect photo and I have since come across another example of where I have done this. The photo is of my youngest son playing his trumpet.
The original photo, taken last year, is slightly blurred and the background was very busy (stacks of books, washing, furniture). The photo as it was probably wasn't worth keeping, but I couldn't bring myself to throw it away because it somehow really captured the moment. I scanned the photo, sharpened the image, removed the background and softened the edges of the image. I softened the edges of the image for several reasons. The main reasons were to hide the imperfections in the photo and to make it less obvious that I had cut out the background. I also wanted the photo to merge with its new background. A few embellishments later and....voila! The moment was saved.
