I have some beautiful vintage photos that I've collected while doing my family history research. I really like using these photos in traditional vintage layouts but this time I decided to play along with the "Vintage With A Twist" challenge over at Orange Paperie & Co. The challenge for me is to present a vintage photo using non-vintage colours. Not being one to shy away from a challenge, I decided to use a lovely old photo (circa 1890) of one of my ancestors and surround that photo with a totally non-traditional layout. I used bright colours and funky, almost childlike, elements. This is what I created:
I loved using the bright colour combination of purple and aqua. I then used, mostly, modern embellishments to finish off the layout.
Thanks for looking. Cheers.

ReplyDeleteI have been trying to leave a comment, so hopefully it will work now.firstly thank you Wendy for joining in with your gorgeous layout at OP. Cheryl certainly set us a challenge this month, but just goes to show you can do vintage without using vintage colours. You have done it wonderfully with the brights and such a wonderful photo.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dolly. I did get your message but for some reason it wouldn't let me answer. :)
DeleteLooks like it's working now. I've had this problem before with Blogger - apparently it's fairly common.
DeleteA beautiful colour combo Wendy. And what a fantastic old photo beautifully showcased. Thanks for playing along.
