Scrap the Boys - Flowers

I found a photo of my boys at the beach at Christmas time four years ago. I was surprised how much younger they looked, and also how big brother was still taller than little brother! Although it's not the best photo in the world, it is sweet and conjured up fond memories for me. I decided to look for a challenge to help inspire me to scrap this photo and I couldn't go past the Scrap the Boys April challenge: Use flowers on a boy layout. I immediately thought of sand, shimmering water, beach dross and summer flowers.

I layered three copies of the photo for more impact and I anchored the photo arrangement with Washi tape. The photo is off-centre, so I used the space on the photo to give me more space for a large title, which is cut from paper. I used Kindy Glitz and glitter to give the impression of beachy shimmer. Here are some close ups.

Dry, scattered, sand-covered flowers, butterflies, shells, discarded netting and other dross, all washed up against the corner of the photo.

Glistening seed beads, shimmering water droplets, and a cute pair of board shorts.

Thanks for stopping by :)
