ARTastic April Challenge

The featured artwork at the ARTastic Challenge Blog this month is a work by
Roy de Maistre called "Frozen Music" and the criteria is to use swirls in your submission. You can create your swirls by using flourishes, in paint, with string, using stamps, as doodles, from embellishments or in your patterned paper, whichever way you like.

Before I show you my Creative Team layout, I want to tell you a bit about the artist Roy de Maistre who created this artwork.

Roy de Maistre CBE was an Australian artist of international fame. He is renowned in Australian art for his early experimentation with "colour-music", and is recognised as the first Australian artist to use pure abstraction.

I created my swirls by digitally altering paper and elements. Then I layered the altered items to create the background, and this is the end result.

I did it like this because I wanted the layers of swirls on the background to create the illusion of the universe and reinforce the idea that, as young graduates, my sons have the world at their feet.
If you're looking for some inspiration, come over and join the challenge. We would love to see your work and you could win a prize from Mystical Scrapbooks or Flourish with a Bling. You will also have a chance to win a random draw prize that will be donated by one of our Creative Team members.
