ARTastic June Challenge

I hope lots of people come over and join in our challenge at ARTastic Challenge Blog this month because the inspirational artwork is so gorgeous and quirky. It's The Bird King by Luka Va.

 

 

Before I tell you what the criteria is, I want to tell you a little about the artist.

 

Luka Va is an illustrator from Lithuania, living in Melbourne, Australia. She brings a great sense of humour and love to her work by creating positive, slightly naive art, with quirky characters. This particular piece The Bird King is acrylic on wood.

 

In line with the artwork, you need to use wood veneer and/or birds on your project. I decided to use both on my layout and here it is.

 

 

 

I wanted to create a fun, quirky layout to reflect my interpretation of The Bird King. I think the artwork is very cute and sweet and that’s what I wanted for my page. I used a sweet baby photo of my youngest son and created the layout with cute, quirky elements. I used a bird and wood veneer embellishments.
