123 Get Scrappy: Dance Around the World

I recently came across a lovely dance photo of a family member that was taken in the 1970s. I wasn't sure how to scrapbook the photo but thought I would give the latest 123 Get Scrappy challenge a go at I like the challenge because the tic tac toe board gives a lot of leeway in the type of techniques and elements you can use.

I chose to use old book pages (above the bottom border and the map), the colour blue, and stars (bottom border) on my page and this is what I came up with.

It may look as though I chose the "bling" option as there is a lot of bling on the page. The reason I did this is because I wanted to twirl the diamantes around the map/globe to give the impression of the movement of dance. The photo came out a lot more orange than my actual page. I took lots of photos but I couldn't get the colour tones right. The smaller photos are closer to the original colour.

The colour blue is obvious in my layout but these close ups show the star border, which is covered in glitter, and the 3D effect of the flowers layered on the flower die cuts. The second close up shows the old page that I tore, inked and layered under the border.

Finally, the above photo shows a close up of the glittery butterfly.
