Archi-scraps August Challenge - Castellation

Hello scrapbooking friends

Today I'm playing along with Archi-scraps Challenge Blog but first a bit of background as to why.

I just got back from a few days in one of my favourite places - Hobart. The city turned on the beautiful weather and, as always, the people were friendly. Each time I go there I'm more and more impressed with the standard of restaurants and local produce. Not that I like whisky but Tasmania now produces world class, award winning whisky. And, of course, one of the things I totally love is the 19th century sandstone buildings. Hobart has so many of these beautiful buildings which give the city so much character. One of these beautiful buildings is St David's cathedral .... lovely sandstone building with intricate interior woodwork and stunning lead light windows.  The cathedral also has a most impressive castellated bell tower. This is the layout I did of the cathedral.

I'm not usually this quick at scrapbooking my photos and definitely wouldn't have been if I hadn't have seen the Archi-scraps challenge for August. This is the inspirational photo,  the Towers of the Grand Masters, Rhodes.

The castellation on the turrets is really impressive and it immediately reminded me of the bell tower of St David's so how could I ignore the challenge?

I hope you like my layout and thanks for stopping by.

Cheers :)

PS I'm having trouble with my comments box not working properly again. Apologies in advance if I don't reply to you.

    1. Thank you Julene :)
I did see the call for DT members but, while I love your challenges, I wouldn't have enough time to do it justice. I'm pretty sure you'll get some amazing applicants. Thanks once again :D

  2. Hobart does have some lovely architecture. I'm looking forward to visiting next May. I've only been there once before. I do love to visit cathedrals. I must look this one up if I have the time. Thanks for joining in at Archiscraps. You have produced a wonderful layout for the challenge.

    1. Thank you Dale :) St David's cathedral is the principal Anglican church in Tasmania. It also has a museum within it. It's in the city on the corner of Macquarie and Murray Streets. That area of the city consists of the most beautiful Georgian buildings - the streetscape is stunning.
