Off The Rails Scrapbooking - March Challenge

Hello Scrapbooking Friends,

The challenge this month over at Off The Rails Scrapbooking is a lovely sketch and beautiful mood board/colour palette.

I incorporated the sketch and the mood board in my layout. Everybody who knows me knows that I really like doing vintage layouts, so I had to stick with the mood board. I used the sketch because I love it. It has so much going on, making it really interesting, without overwhelming the photo - such a good balance.

This is what I came up with for my design team project:

This is a digital page featuring two of my late aunts.  I like vintage because it allows me to document the beautiful old family photos I have gathered during my years of family research.

With this layout I have created the background with lots of stamping. The pinkish/beige dots are all digital stamps, as is the writing, splatters and chicken wire. The photo is framed with layers of torn cardboard and ephemera paper. To help the photo stand out against the background, I inked around two edges with brown and black. I layered the flowers to give some depth and I altered them to fit the colour palette. The rest of the page is made up of vintage elements such as the handbag and key. I hope you like it.

The sponsor for this challenge is Imaginarium Designs, an Adelaide based company specialising in unique chipboard designs.

I would love to see you come over and join in on our challenge at Off The Rails Scrapbooking this month.

Cheers and thank you for looking.
