ARTastic - May Challenge

I love the inspirational artwork at ARTastic Challenge Blog this month. It's a piece called "The Return of the Young Prince" by Sarah Beetson and the criterion is to use stars in your project.

Sarah Beetson is a British Artist and Illustrator based in Australia. She graduated from Falmouth College of Arts, Cornwall, UK in 2002 and won the Pentland Prize for Fine Art the same year. She then spent four years in London working in fashion, illustration and design in-house at Yellowdoor (Mary Portas), Pop and The Face magazines and completed a 7 month print design internship at Stella McCartney. A commission followed to decorate the walls of the shoe room of Stella's Bruton Street shop. Since then, she has built a career as a freelance Artist and Illustrator, exhibiting work in London, Paris, Portland, New York, Adelaide, Melbourne, and The Gold Coast, and has been documented in a wealth of books on the subject, published from Taiwan to Argentina to Germany and the USA.

I was inspired by the colours and youthfulness of Sarah Beetson’s artwork. It inspired me to scrap a photo of my son from his recent trip to Japan. This was the first independent overseas trip for my son (paid for and organised by him). I chose the photo taken at the Tokyo Tower because it screams “youth, fun and colour” …. Just like Sarah Beetson’s artwork. This is what I ended up with:

Come on over and see what the other Creative Team members came up with and if you're looking for some inspiration,  join the challenge. We would love to see your work, and you could win a prize from Mystical Scrapbooks or Flourish with a Bling. You will also have a chance to win a random draw prize that will be donated by one of our Creative Team members.

Cheers :)
