Hello, as I've said before, I'm usually a digi scrapbooker but here I am, once again, with a traditional layout. This one was inspired by the Archi-scraps February Challenge - COLOUR BLOCKING PLUS A HOLIDAY PHOTO. You can find the challenge at http://archiscraps.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/february-archiscraps-challenge.html
This is what I came up with.
I kept the layout fairly simple to highlight the colour blocks, which I co-ordinated with the photo. I love this photo, the doorway to the laneway almost looks like a an old fashioned fire surround. But, if you look a little closer you can see a whole other world going on through the doorway/opening. Flower planters abound beyond the doorway, as do the flowers in the window boxes above the café. I followed through this theme with the flower border and the flowers around the windmill.
I had a problem in that I had no Dutch embellishments so I made them (the flag, windmill and arrows). I chalked the edges of the colour blocks to highlight them and I added a little bling to lift everything. The following photos show how I did this. I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by. If you like what you see, please give me a like. :)
