Off The Rails Scrapbooking - Favourite Embellishments Blog Hop

I'm very excited to be part of Off The Rails Scrapbooking first blog hop. It's easy to join in and you can win a lovely prize from Graphic 45.

This prize is from the "By The Sea" range and it consists of 1x 12x12 Pad, 1x 8x8 Pad, 1x stickers, 1x die cuts, and 1x chipboards.

Graphic 45 is an award-winning scrapbook and paper crafting company. They offer vintage inspired crafting products that capture the flamboyant style of the 1920's and 30's - with vibrant color, irresistible texture and imaginative design to create products with decades-old appeal that's both fresh and familiar. Let their products inspire your next scrapbook layout, card, album or home decor project.

All you have to do is visit all the participating blogs, starting with OTRS to get the low down on how everything works. Then visit each of the other 13 participating design team member's blogs to find out what their favourite embellishments are. Here is a list of the blogs you need to visit (you are currently at 13):

Next step is to create a layout using four of the design team's favourite embellishments and link your layout to the OTRS blog.

On your blog, you need to say what four embellishments you have used and whose blogs you got them from.

Now down to the pointy end - my favourite embellishment at the moment is Washi Tape. I had never used Washi Tape until very recently but, once I did, I wondered why it had taken me so long because it is so versatile. I've used it to cover chipboard embellishments, highlight certain parts of a layout and to frame or mat photos on layouts. This time though I decided to show you how simple it is to use Washi Tape to make a card ..... take a peek:

I've made a 3D stand up card here but you could make any style card. You can see how simple it is to cut Washi Tape to make candles and bunting - this card was really quick to make. I used twine to join the bunting but you could just as easily use a marker to join them together. The candle flames are made from beads from fringing but it would be easy to use something like Kindy Glitz to create the flames.

The versatility of Washi Tape is what makes it my current favourite embellishment.

To be eligible for a prize, don't forget to leave a comment on my blog to let me know you stopped by. Don't worry if your comment doesn't appear immediately, it will after being approved (just a way to stop spammers).
Have fun and thank you for hopping by and joining in. :)

I've only been blogging for a few months and haven't quite worked everything out yet. I will investigate the "follow" option next week (my internet has crashed and I'm using an iPhone as a modem at the moment). :)

Tried to follow you but could not find a signup option, I saw in previous comments that you will look into setting that up so I will come back and check:-)
